Sesame seed “breaded” tofu, version 2
For part of lunch today, I made an updated version of my sesame-seed “breaded” tofu, that I serve with my peanut/tahini sauce. Today, rather than breading with just seeds (sometimes I’ll do my sesame seed three color mix of black, white, and brown, other times I’ll add flax seeds in there, too) I did a sesame seed mix with gomasio.
I absolutely love gomasio, but haven’t been using it much at all lately. So I mixed about half and half whole seeds (the mixture I always use) and gomasio. I dipped the tofu in beaten egg, and then into the sesame mixture.
The end result is that it wasn’t quite as attractive as just using the seeds, but I loved the way it coated the tofu, so I will definitely do this again. I used the same peanut/tahini sauce from the link above.
Sorry, no photo. It just wasn’t a pretty dish. I’ll make sure it comes out better the next time, so I can share a picture.
Enjoy!
