Move #30, in weekly installments
And so it’s the end of the year and we’re moving once more. The good thing is that we don’t have to be out of our current place until the end of the month/year, and our new apartment is already ready.
So we started last week, if I remember correctly (because we’ve made about a thousand trips by now), by filling up suitcases and taking them over to the new place, which is about 15 blocks or so from where we’re currently living (I know, this number keeps changing every time I mention it, but I still haven’t counted the actual distance).
The idea was to make it a less stressful move, by taking things over in small amounts and setting everything up before we go back for another trip. We did two trips last Saturday and Sunday, two more one other day, and two yesterday. Honestly I think we’re not more than 30% finished, but Agus says we’ve moved over 50% of our things.
We’re totally undecided as to whether this is actually a better moving method. It’s kind of tiring, but it gets the job done. We have two more trips to make today, and we hope to call the moving truck to take the big stuff by the end of next week, maybe on Saturday.
I seriously can’t wait to be done with this. And I would say I hope we won’t be moving again for a long time, but I know there’s another move in the near future. More on #31 when it gets here!
