Flow
I know I mentioned that we were planning to see this movie back when we were on our documentary obsession a couple of weeks ago, but I never updated once we saw it. Flow is an excellent movie that talks about water around the world, and I highly recommend it. This is an issue that affects absolutely everyone.
In other documentary news, Food, Inc. was nominated for an Oscar in the Documentary Feature category. After seeing the movie and then reading the book (both of which were so well done), I’m so happy to see that it got a nomination.
There’s also a petition you can sign on the Food, Inc. website to show your support for the Child Nutrition Act Reauthorization. Basically, what they’re asking you to support is the following: “We believe that federally funded nutrition programs should provide all children with the healthy food they deserve. This includes low fat and safe dairy, fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grains. Schools should be soda and junk-food-free zones and serve food that complements and furthers parents’ efforts to feed their children healthfully.”
Not a bad cause, is it?
