Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m thinking this product would require a major name change before being introduced into an English-language market. Don’t you think? I mean, I know it’s for lice and all, but still…at least it’s sold over the counter.
Can you imagine asking your pharmacist for this one without bursting into laughter? Try saying it out loud, just for kicks.
*LOL*

Um holy crap! That was some (non-existent?) bad pre-launch market research.
Not so bad…I found this the other evening in a Carrefour here in Argentina. I was just thinking…if they ever decided to change markets, they’d have to change the name.
And where did they get this name from, BTW??!!
This reminds me of a product from back in the 80s. I think it was supposed to be an appetite suppressant. It was called “Ayds”, pronounced “aids”, as in something that helps you. The tagline in their ads was, “Get Ayds.” Well, I’m sure that was fine before AIDS became a household word!
Sometime around 1990 or so the company finally changed the product name to something like “Diet Ayds” with a corresponding change to the tag line, but I think the damage had already been done!
lol! That happens SO much abroad, they probably laugh at our brand names when they come over too…Can’t believe there’s a Carrefour in Argentina! Here I was surprised to find one in Dubai! They’re everywhere!
Michelle, that’s a horrible name!! I bet they were pretty upset about the new meaning their name had taken on.
Curi, I’d bet there are TONS of products like this! Carrefour is all over Argentina. I think they’re the biggest supermarket chain in the world. Bigger than Sam’s/WalMart. There are big Carrefours, and Carrefour Express (smaller ones).
