Feel Good Friday: Look What I Got in the Mail!

September 24, 2010

It’s that time again! Choose a prompt and join in!

I missed out on FGF last week because I was in bed with this horrible flu-thing. I actually considered dragging myself out of bed and over to my computer to write up a post, but in the end I decided it was best just to stay put and rest. All better now!

So…guess what I got in the mail this week? Check it out! Remember when I lamented the lack of shiny foil stars here in Argentina for my calendar? Well, Purplume listened, and when she was traveling on the mainland last month, she GOT ME STARS!

In a miraculous display of Argentine mail efficiency, they took only eleven days to arrive. I was impressed! And she also sent me a knitting pattern for coffee cozies, thinking of the yogurt sweaters I’ve been wanting to make.

Thank you Purplume! Thank you, thank you! I’m so happy to have stars to use on my calendar again.

I find my star system to be really motivating, because it’s color-coded and shows me at a quick glance everything I’ve done that month: exercise, writing on both blogs (this also helps me plan blog posts for the week when I set them up to post on future dates), and other things like translating or planning for our upcoming move (which is moving along very nicely).

One of the things that I absolutely love about blogging is getting to “meet” new people. People that I have things in common with and can share things with. And I also love any kind of non-virtual interaction, like actually getting to meet up with someone I’ve met online (last December, on a super-long layover at DFW, I met up with another of the Destination Experts for Tulum on TripAdvisor.com) or getting a surprise gift like this one from Purplume.

So thank you, all, for your interaction here. And thank you Purplume, for the stars!

Happy Friday! Hugs to you all.

Aw gawsh! You are very welcome. I thought of you when I saw those stars and the patterns.

I know how it is to be somewhere where you can’t get things you like to have. And I love stars and charts too.

So glad you are better. Continued grace and ease with your move. XD

And I missed you last week at FGF. I should know when someone is missing to send prayers.

    Thanks Dollycas!

And thanks to you Purplume! The moving preparations are going very well. It’s a lot of paperwork, but we have a buyer for the apartment, and tickets to the US, and once we get back from that I can start my visa application. And then we hope to be out of here by mid-November. I just picked up some boxes from the supermarket today for our first packing.

I wanted so much to post last week, but it just didn’t happen. Hugs!

JB/Purplume is the most thoughtful and kind blogger out there. I remember when our dog was sick and I wasn’t blogging, she emailed me if everything was okay! She is a true genuine lovely person. I am happy to blog to be able to meet people like her and you!

And I remember the star post!!!!

I agree, Erika! I am happy to meet you both! I can’t remember whether I found Purplume through your blog, or your blog through Purplume’s blog, but it was either one or the other.

      Hugs!
