June/December: Think berries!

June (Northern Hemisphere)/December (Southern Hemisphere):

This post is a little late in coming, as I didn’t have time last month to write up this post. I did copy and save the list of seasonal fruit and veggies from mid-December so I wouldn’t miss the information.

As I’ve done in previous months, I’m updating with the list of fruits and veggies that appear as seasonable on the organic farm website that I was ordering from in Argentina. I’m going to keep updating with their info until I complete the year. What’s actually available down there appears in bold below. This may, of course, vary from area to area.

Fruit: apricots, blueberries, cantaloupe, cherries, gooseberries, peaches, strawberries, watermelon

Veggies: bell peppersbroccoli, chard, chives, corn, cucumbers, leeks, lettuce, shallots, snow peas, squash, tomatoes

The site has none of the fruit that should have been in season for this month, and they also have some totally out of season things like apples, cabbage, carrots, grapefruit, and oranges.

A VERY happy 2011 to you! How are things going with the move? It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. Between holiday travel to Italy and full time job hunting, I’ve been trying to not distract myself with other things. So I’ve been reading other blogs, but not commenting.
